Older Women Increased HIV Risk

Middle-aged women that are newly divorced or single are more vulnerable to a HIV infection and other STIs, a new study has revealed.  Letting their guard down concerning their sexual health is the main problem.  Since older women are unafraid of getting pregnant they believe that condom use is not a high priority. This is far from the truth.

On top of this as aging continues such things as thinning of the vaginal walls make a women more susceptible to contract a virus.

Treatments for STDs or HIV can also be difficult for a womens body to tolerate.  Aging bodies react differently to medications.

More research on this topic needs to be done.  This early information is great and should help with directing the appropriate help in the correct directions.
